RCH Ile de France Stud’s People
On the farm Uitgezocht outside Ermelo, is where Regina Harmse and her husband, and biggest supporter Wilco breeds with stud and commercial Ile de France sheep…
How RCH Started:
In 1995 Regina found the love for the breed when she borrowed a friend and breeder’s rams for an experiment on crossbreeding Ile de France with merino ewes. This was when Regina realized Ile de France is the best meat breed by far.
In 2006, the first purebred Ile de France ewes were purchased and RCH Ile de France Stud registered. RCH Ile de France Stud is currently one of the largest Ile de France studs in South Africa.
The focus falls on breeding superior animals for their own use as well as the availability of genetic material to fellow breeders and commercial farmers.
